The Ruffié-Ariège gîte is right on the doorstep of a new regional nature park created a few years ago, which covers part of our département and stretches along the left bank of the Ariège river to the Spanish border and the Couserans region. It's a great place to explore our region, its ecosystems, fauna, flora, landscapes and local produce.

Among other projects, the park is trying to promote sustainable and local architecture to "create tomorrow's heritage", to promote the "wood" sector in respect of the forests, to raise children's awareness with "eco-schools"...and much more. It also organizes themed outings.
If you're planning a vacation in Ariège, you'll also be able to sample a wide variety of local products labelled by the park (honey, various cheeses, cold meats, etc.).
